Spooky Chocolate Peanut Ghoulish Graveyard Cake

Ingredients:
2 cups semi sweet chocolate chips
1 1/2 cups heavy cream
3 cups All Purpose Flour
1 tbsp. baking powder
1/4 tsp salt
1 1/4 cup buttermilk
5 eggs
6 tablespoons butter softened
1/3 cup peanut butter
1 tsp vanilla extract
6 oval or rectangular cookies such as oval sandwich cookies or shortbread
Cake Mate® Writing Icing
Halloween Colors
1-1.2 containers
Cake Mate® Bone Bash Decors
25 Pretzel sticks or twists
1 pkg. Betty Crocker® Candy Cake Decorations, Halloween variety
1/2 cup
Marble Mix'ins® Oreo
Instructions:
Place chocolate chips in a 2 quart bowl. Bring heavy cream just to a boil over high heat and pour over the chocolate chips. Let stand 5 minutes, then whisk until completely smooth. Allow cool to room temperature, then cover and refrigerate while baking the cake.
Preheat oven to 375°.
Generously grease 2-9" square baking pan, lining the bottoms each with a piece of parchment paper. Dust the pans with flour.
Whisk the flour , baking powder and salt together in a medium sized bowl and set aside. Whisk the eggs and buttermilk together in a small bowl and set aside.
In the bowl of an electric mixer beat together the butter, peanut butter and sugar on medium speed, using the paddle attachment, for 5 minutes or until very pale in color.
Add a 1/3 of the flour mixture to the butter mixture and cream together on low speed just until combined. Scrape down the bowl and add 1/2 of the buttermilk egg mixture. Once that has combined repeat with 1/3 four mixture , the remaining 1/2 of the buttermilk mixture, and finally the remaining 1/3 of the flour mixture. Be sure to scrape down the batter in between to ensure the batter is properly mixed.
Divide the batter between the pans and place in the middle of the oven. Bake for 30-35 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean. Allow cakes to cool for 10 minutes, then invert the cakes from the pans and onto a cooling rack to cool completely.
Place one cake layer on a plate large enough to leave a 1 1/2" border. Frost the top of the cake with 1/3 of the frosting. Place the other layer on top and frosting the top and sides of the cake with the remaining frosting.
Decorate the cookies as headstones with the Cake Mate® Writing Icing. Allow to dry slightly while preparing the rest of the cake. Sprinkle to top of the cake with Marble Mix'in*®s Oreos as dirt. Insert the pretzel stix around the perimeter of the cake to create a fence. Place headstones on the cake Add a path of Cake Mate® Bone Bash and finish with Betty Crocker Halloween Candy and Cake decorations.
